Filmato davvero curioso... "in azione" un lettore hardware di file VGM, vale a dire le chiptune del Mega Drive / Genesis "rippate" in formato VGM dai giochi tramite emulatori cone il Kega Fusion e collezionate in gran numero sul sito Project 2612 ( http://project2612.org/ )...
Il lettore non restituisce una resa fedele del sound originale e visualizza solo 6 LED relativi ai canali del chip Yamaha YM2612 -Frequency Modulation synthesis-... nessun LED, invece, per il chip secondario Texas Instruments TI SN76489 -Programmable Sound Generator- che risulta comunque emulato... ma ad un volume decisamente troppo alto rispetto a quello del chip principale YM2612.
Now featuring the SN76489, an SD card and the YM2612's lovely 8-bit DAC. Capable of playing every Genesis VGM I've tried (quite a few) with the exception of one or two from Sonic 2 and 3 that play a little too slow (DAC timing issue for sure).
The six LEDs monitor the activity of each of the YM2612's channels.
