Wolfenstein 3D su Atari ST / STE

Si tratta di una vecchia demo... che però non avevo mai visto. Niente male per un sistema che monta un 68000 a 8 Mhz...

In riferimento al video (pubblicato il 15/02/14):

"Stock standard Atari 1040STE with 4 MB RAM, ICD link SCSI adapter connected to an old 20Mb Macintosh classic HDD and a PeST atari PS/2 mouse adapter (works with usb microsoft optical mice no problems). Connected to 70 inch full HD television via composite video cable - looks shit on LCD's, really needs a good old fashioned CRT to look decent.

Surprisingly playable with crusty old 8 Mhz Motorola 68000 processor

Wolfenstein 3D by The Sirius Cybernetics Corporation - sistemi: Atari ST / STE con 4 MB di RAM (ad esempio 1040STFM espansi o Mega ST / STE):

"up to 15 fps on a plain ST
wallrefresh completely finished (including doors and pushwalls)
and working at 16.16 fixed point accuracy
collision detection (gliding against walls is possible, too)
keyboard controls as known from the original version
    (strafe mode, running etc.)
graphics from the apple IIgs version of wolfenstein 3d
    32 colors at once
high detail mode for faster machines
resizeable gamewindow to gain speed on slow machines
static objects (bonus items, bullets, bodies, pillars...)
    moving and animated objects (enemies)
sample replay/mixing (software on (M)ST, DMA on STE+)
    level/episode processing and loading
it should run on any 16/32bit ATARI

Un nuovo video che mostra il porting di Wolfenstein 3D (v. 0.8a) per Atari ST / STE, evidenziando le differenze tra la versione Atari ST e quella STE:

Pubblicato in data 20/apr/2014 da MACE Atari:

"This is a quick video to show the difference between ray of tscc's excellent port of Wolfenstein running on an STE, and on the original 1985-spec hardware as found in an STFM.
Wolf require 2 MB of RAM, which not many machines in 1985 may have had, although it was a standard upgrade available at the time.
